Yves Klein

1928–1962 Yves Klein was a French avant‑garde artist and one of the most significant figures of postwar art. Initially, Klein worked with various colors, but he soon came to understand that the only color embodying the infinity of the universe was blue. Yves recalls that from his youth he felt a passionate attraction to the sky and dreamed of signing it as if it were a painting. In 1956, Yves Klein became the first artist to develop and officially patent a color – from that moment on, "International Klein Blue" became his signature. Blue broke free from the confines of the canvas, transforming into a wide range of sculptures and installations.
